My Story

I have been dancing since the age of 6 and trained at Vanessa's School of Dance in Belper, Derbyshire. I studied I.S.T.D Tap, Ballet and Modern as well as taking classes in Street Jazz, Lyrical and Musical Theatre. I competed in many dance competitions over the years gaining many medals and trophies.

Performing in shows was what I loved the most and still do. As well as all the dance school shows, I also performed with the National Youth Ballet three times, the English Youth Ballet and the European Ballet as a young girl.

As I grew older, I realised that my love for Tap dance and Musical Theatre were the greatest and knew that that was the direction I wanted my career to move in.

At the age of 19 in 2011 (I'll let you work out how old I am now!) I joined the incredible tap company; Tap Attack. I gained so much more knowledge about the world of tap dance and was extremely lucky to have the opportunity to compete in the World Tap Dance Championships in Germany for the England Team where we gained a Bronze Medal in our Formation routine.

Since then, I have had some fantastic performing opportunities in my career. I worked at The Alton Towers Resort from 2012 to 2022 and performed in many shows there as well as being a Show Captain and Choreographer. In between working there, I have toured with Eva Long Productions and Talegate Theatre in their seasonal pantomimes, performed my own Vintage Vocal act around the country and toured in the production of Stand By Me with The Drifters (to name a few!).

I have always continued my study of Tap Dance taking part in Brighton Tap Festival, Taptastic Festival in Germany, Tap Dance Festival UK, Roxane Butterfly's intensive course in Paris and Heather Cornell's Tap Labs in America. I have been lucky enough to train with some of the most incredible Tap Masters from all around the world including Derek Hartley, Maud Arnold, Ruben Sanchez, Jason Janas, Avalon Rathgeb, Heather Cornell and my absolute inspiration; Sarah Reich. I love performing at Tap Jams and feeling the buzz of improvising to live music.

In 2021 I became the Artistic Director for Tap Dance for I-PATH which has enabled me to create my own Tap syllabus. If you'd like more information on this, follow this link:

In November 2021, I became an Associate Lecturer for Tap Dance at the new Performers College campus in Birmingham which I am absolutely loving. From March to June 2022 I had the pleasure of being one of the Dance Captains for the 'Tappin'In' Project in association with the Commonwealth Games teaching tap to groups across the West Midlands for a performance in Birmingham. I also teach for Sole Rebel Tap Company, Vanessa's School of Dance and Hope Mill Theatre School!

I have so much I want to share with you all so please check out the rest of my site for information on classes, workshops and performance bookings! Enjoy!
